Bristol and the University of Bristol

Among the major cities of Western England, Bristol is also on an ocean inlet, and its temperate oceanic climate is slightly cooler than Hobart’s. It has a population of around 500,000.

Many of the University of Bristol’s activities occur just north of the city centre, and there are plans to create a new campus at Temple Quarter near the Temple Meads railway station and river in the heart of the city. These plans include a business school, digital research facilities and a student village. Improvements are expected for pedestrian experiences in the precinct, and a new library and a resource hub are also on the drawing board.

To be known as Temple Quarter Enterprise Campus, the new development is being done in partnership with the City of Bristol as one of the major regeneration projects in the UK. That project will include new housing, green space, transport innovations, and collaboration with businesses and industries in enterprise zones.
